And here we are on today, finally. Today I have spent most of my day working at Common Grounds, stressing about Common Core Standards and updating this blog to calm myself down. Photo of the day is my parents and one of their oldest friends (and my Godfather) Jim... Daddy and Jim are heading off on a super-manly fishing trip while Mom and I try to clean the house while we can!

What a day! I'll add the rest of my pictures later because of the other camera, but we had a Saturday reunion of the old crowd with Lauren, Nick, Jesse and Brittany with even a Skype cameo by Kegan - and spent the whole day with darling friends' brand new baby. It was glorious, and just LOOK at that darling!!

Sunday Funday...
Went to the Woodland Art Fair, which is Lexington's largest gathering of slow walkers. I found a fastenator that I am still seeing in my dreams . . . it's positively divine. I may end up getting a new one soon. Also lots of gorgeous art and hats...
And a much needed restful day, topped off my supper with the 'rents afterward.

Today was a Professional Development day, so my new co-worker and friend Mary Elizabeth and I decided to answer a very important professional question: does the safety shower in her science classroom really work. Soaked, shivering, rusty and covered in calcium deposits, we can firmly tell you that yes... it does in fact work.

After a loooonng Wednesday, I got to see my original "babies" for dinner... right before they went back to COLLEGE. That's right, my babies are all in college!

First real school week and this Monday is doubly special... First a visit from a darling old friend (from across the country!) and then the UK Pro Game!
Such a nice surprise to have Nick and his mom drive through Lexington on their way to NYC FROM LA... ha! Quite the trip and they still managed to stop for coffee in Lex! Had a great chat and I realized that Nick, who is most definitely a kindred spirit, is also the perfect friend for a roamer like me... we met in LA and since then have met up in Chicago, Washington DC (twice) and Lexington... US Tour of friendship right there! He is now stealing my dream out from under me and taking NYU by storm for Law School, which means we will almost certainly add NYC to the list next!

So everything these first few weeks in Lexington is a blur. The main thing I focused on was my fabulous new job, offered one hour after my first interview, at a school about which I feel passionate. :)
