Today as I stepped out of my car I was awash in a lovely smell. The wonderful cleaning crew at school placed the flowers in the building too, and for a Kentucky girl it was a sweet little piece of home.

You might notice my blog has been a little school-heavy. I'm trying to go out with a bang!! Today I am planning my end-of-year 8th grade project starring and based on this FABULOUS book for children. A great story and excellent teaching tool. Any guesses on the project?

This day is a little hazy in the beginning... there was some boozing, jewelry shopping, more street shopping in Wicker park a little wined up.... and then a BBQ festival with my honey to work off all the booze!

On this lovely Saturday, Brenton and I ventured to the zoo!
Even though it rained, we had a wonderful time and were as exhausted as 5 year-olds when we got home!

This Friday was a lot of fun in one - most importantly, it was the staff-student basketball game and the heat was on! Even with terrible reffing, the staff walked away with the V (Thank God, because my kids never would have let me hear the end of it!)

Today was the gorgeous 8th grade luncheon that Kristen Perteet, our fabulous high school coordinator, planned. It was wonderful and truly cathartic to see the kids I have loved so and to whom I have dedicated so much looking grown up and beautiful. I also, again, was awed by the awesomeness of my team at BZ. I am a lucky, lucky girl.
And I end with my "special babies" - not so baby-ish anymore!

I know it must seem like I spend all my time with this kid (as much as possible) and all we do is eat, but that is no totally true (just mostly.)
